Florida feels like pure light.
Two years ago, we drove to St. Augustine. A place that instantly stayed with me, and still my number one recommendation. Peaceful, warm, and filled with that effortless summer feeling you wish you could hold onto a little longer. This time, we decided to go further down, curious to see more of what Florida had to offer.
We passed through Tallahassee and, of course, made a quick stop at the State Capitol, before continuing our way toward the Gulf Coast. Tampa Bay brought a completely different energy; open, coastal, and vibrant in a more laid-back way. We stayed overnight in Safety Harbor, which turned out to be such a charming and relaxed spot, before driving through St. Petersburg and slowly making our way back up.
In Orlando, we experienced something entirely different: a drag raceway. It was intense, loud, and honestly very impressive to witness, but a small tip: definitely bring hearing protection if you ever go.
Florida, to me, is contrast in a lighter form. It’s sunshine and movement, but also moments of calm if you know where to look. From quiet coastal towns to unexpected experiences, it’s a place that keeps surprising you in the best way.
