🇺🇸 MISSISSIPPI

Mississippi is not a place that immediately reveals itself.

It’s quieter than you expect, slower too. The kind of place where the air feels heavy, the roads stretch on, and everything seems to move at its own pace. Somewhere along the way, you stop looking for big moments — and start noticing the feeling instead.

We made our way to Jackson, where we visited the State Capitol, a place that carries so much of Mississippi’s history within its walls. Not long after, we left the city behind and drove toward Natchez via the Natchez Trace Parkway, and that might have been one of the most beautiful parts of the journey. Long, winding roads surrounded by nature, with a stillness that felt almost cinematic.

There’s a deep sense of history here, one that you don’t always see directly, but can feel in the atmosphere. Mississippi carries stories. In its towns, its landscapes, and in the rhythm of everyday life. It’s also known as the birthplace of the blues, and somehow that makes perfect sense. There’s something almost musical about the way this place unfolds: slow, soulful, and a little bit raw.

Driving through, it felt different from the other states. Less polished, more honest. The kind of beauty that doesn’t try too hard, but stays with you anyway.
