A stay on Lopud, a small, car-free island just off the coast near Dubrovnik.
Lopud is quiet and laid-back, known for its clear water, sandy beaches (rare for Croatia), and slower pace compared to the mainland. It’s a place to fully disconnect.
Dubrovnik, on the other hand, is one of the most visually striking cities in Europe — historic stone walls, narrow streets, and direct views over the Adriatic. More developed and busier, but still impressive.
Also visited during a previous Balkan road trip, which adds a different perspective to the same location.
