North Carolina felt like the perfect closing chapter to our journey.
There was something about the balance of this state between coast, small towns, and moments of stillness that made everything come together. We visited places like Beaufort and Charleston, both full of charm, history, and that soft coastal atmosphere that instantly puts you at ease.
One of the most memorable stops was Pretty Place Park & Chapel. Set high up in the mountains, the view stretches endlessly, and for a moment, everything feels quiet in the best possible way. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause, take a breath, and just take it all in.
We also passed through smaller places like Commerce, which added to that feeling of discovering the in-between — the parts of a journey that aren’t always planned, but often end up meaning the most.
And then, something completely different: a NASCAR race at Darlington Motor Speedway. Loud, intense, and full of energy — such a fun experience and a perfect contrast to the calmness we found in nature.
North Carolina felt like balance. A mix of movement and stillness, energy and calm. And maybe that’s why it felt like the right place to end this journey — not as an ending, but as a moment of reflection before heading home.
