🇮🇹 ITALY

This week, I had the opportunity to visit Puglia, located in the south of Italy. We stayed in Giovinazzo at Hotel Riva Del Sole and spent five wonderful days exploring the region. Although our trip was relatively short, it offered the perfect combination of relaxation, culture and beautiful coastal scenery.

Giovinazzo quickly became one of my favourite discoveries. This charming seaside town is known for its picturesque harbour, narrow streets and authentic Italian atmosphere. Unlike some of Italy's more crowded destinations, Giovinazzo feels peaceful and genuine, making it an ideal place to slow down and enjoy everyday Italian life.

During our stay, we also visited Polignano a Mare and the historic centre of Bari, both easily accessible by train from Giovinazzo in around 30 to 45 minutes. Each destination has its own unique character.

Polignano a Mare is famous for its dramatic limestone cliffs, crystal-clear waters and breathtaking views over the Adriatic Sea. Walking through the whitewashed streets and discovering hidden viewpoints felt like stepping into a postcard.

Bari, on the other hand, offers a vibrant mix of history, culture and local life. The old town is filled with narrow alleyways, charming squares and traditional Italian restaurants. One of the highlights was simply wandering through the streets and observing daily life unfold around us.

What I appreciated most about Puglia was its balance between authentic local culture and stunning coastal landscapes. Whether you're looking for beautiful towns, delicious food, relaxing beaches or a slower pace of travel, Puglia has something to offer.

This may have been a short trip, but it certainly left a lasting impression. Puglia is a destination I would happily return to and explore in even greater depth.
