Texas continues to amaze me. Yesterday we explored Big Bend National Park and the beauty of nature there is simply unbelievable, endless desert landscapes, dramatic mountains and the most magical light. We had the loveliest day just taking it all in and enjoying the stillness of this incredible place.
What makes Big Bend so fascinating is its immense size. The park covers more than 800,000 acres — it’s actually larger than the entire state of Rhode Island. It stretches along about 118 miles of the Rio Grande river, which forms the natural border between the United States and Mexico. You’ll find desert, mountains and river landscapes all in one place, and it’s also one of the best places in North America for stargazing thanks to its incredibly dark night skies.
It’s truly a must-see when visiting Texas. The vastness, the silence and the raw beauty of nature here make it such a special experience.
